Independence Day celebration

It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show. The main Programme is celebrated at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides, this festival is also celebrated in every city and town of our country. India’s 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with fervour in Standard Public School today. The Chairpersons of the School, Mr. Vasudeo Mangharamani and Mr. Jitendra Dodeja also graced the function. The program began with the customary Flag hoisting by honourable directors and principal of the school followed by singing of the National Anthem.An Inter-House Group Song Competition was organized to mark the occasion. The students of all four Houses gave excellent rendition of patriotic songs. The winner of this competition was Blue House and runner up was Red House. This was followed by a spirited performance of ‘Gondhal” , the famous folk dance of Maharashtra. Vinit Srivastav then gave an enthusiastic recitation of the poem which was written by National poet shri Hari Om Pawar, followed by a well coordinated P.T. demonstration by the students of Class II. The Principal of the School, Mr. Shyam Agarwal addressed the students and explain the importance of freedom .The tiny tots of Senior Montessori and Class I exhibited their patriotic feelings by participating in the “Walk For Nation” , with great gusto. At the end of the program principal’s representative Mustafa Rangwala present the vote of thanks ,whole program was beautifully conducted by Samiksha Chale and master Harshit Pawar of class XIth.
